Apparently, I'm not the only one who loves to dance, judging by the response to my last article about dancing your cares away. So I thought I would take this idea one step further.
I've taken numerous dance classes over the years but by far the most fun style of dance I studied was belly dancing. What I love about it is that you can learn several moves and combinations but put them together how ever you wish. Unlike line dancing, or ballroom dance, where the steps are all prescribed and require memorization (or you're to one tripping over your feet), belly dancing is free-form. You get to decide how you want to arrange your moves and steps and you can dance to any music you like.
Take a look at this video to see what I mean:
Besides the pretty costumes and bright colours, belly dancing has great health benefits.

But here's my problem: I live in a village where no classes are available. I'm assuming that I'm not the only one in this situation.
Perhaps your schedule doesn't permit you to attend classes in person. Or, you're just not ready to join other people but you'd love to learn the moves and get more fit in a fun way, to music.
I've found the solution. I discovered a super-exciting online course where we can learn at home whenever we like. I love how this course is put together, and that the instructor has created easy to follow videos to learn all the moves.
Mariella Monroe's Belly Dancing Course is the answer. It's far less costly than attending a class, and you can learn at your own pace.
I think you will love this at home course. I'm loving it already.
Does the thought of slogging it out at the gym make you cringe? Do team sports make you want to run in the other direction? If the thought of taking up yet another exercise program makes bores you to tears, or makes you nauseated, why not try dancing?

Depending what style of dancing your choose, all you may need is a good pair of comfortable shoes like these:
Or you can go for something snazzy like these ones if you're interested in ballroom or Latin dance styles.
The great thing about dancing is that you don't need any special equipment other than comfortable clothes and the shoes or even bare feet. So get out on the floor and get fit. You'll have fun at the same time.
The seasons have definitely changed. Summer has drifted away on slanting sunbeams and the air has taken on a little nip, forcing sandals into the back of the closet again. It's nice to make changes around the house too, inside and out. Here are a few ideas to mark the new season.
Replace dying flowers in hanging baskets and window boxes with a collection of gourds and pumpkins.
Nothing says "harvest" quite like a bale of straw, pumpkins, and chrysanthemums.
Here is an easy centrepiece idea. Glass jars or vases, short pillar candles, unshelled nuts, and sprigs of sage.
Create easy tabletop arrangements by using a pumpkin or gourd as a vase.
